Liam & Mel - Greenbank

Liam and Mel bought their property next to the former Elizabeth Shaw Chocolate Factory. After a short while it was apparent that there were certain rooms that needed attention, “the previous owners decorated the rooms to look good for the brochure photos”, said Liam.

Cracks in the plaster had appeared all over the new extension wall, the plaster on the edge beads had deteriorated, and the paint was flaking off the wall in several places.

After discussing the details of the project, the following work was carried out:

The cracks were opened up, scraped back and filled in a two stage process. The edge beads were refilled and stabilised, and the flaky paint was sanded back to a stable finish. The walls were then undercoated and received 3 coats of Farrow and Ball to provide a perfect flat matte finish.

The Room Refresh

Do you have a room that is a little tired looking.

Years of young children’s hand marks are like tide marks on the walls, or re-hung pictures have left crop circles (or squares) all over your walls. Or perhaps important visitors are coming soon, or a new tenant. Bottom line is first impressions are not what they used to be.

Then a refresh is the perfect option.

  • Walls (two coats) and ceiling (one coat usually does it). or,

  • Walls (two coats) and skirting and architrave (undercoat and top coat).

Same colour and same finish. Light sanding, filling and keying-in included.

Usually completed in 1 day + preparation time + materials.

Like-New Decorating

These projects involve more significant preparation and can take several days to complete a single room. However, the end result is a beautiful finish that will delight you, your friends and family.

    While I can provide rough estimates over the phone, I will always need to visit your property to assess the conditions of the rooms that need attention.

    We will agree the approach and the level of attention needed. Whether it is a quick refresh, or a complete like-new finish, my estimates are accurate and reasonable.

    The dialogue never stops. While my estimates are accurate, snags do crop up and the scope of the project can change on-the-hoof.
