Helping a Bristol Rental Property Get Back on Track

Not every decorating project starts with a blank canvas.

Hilary and Brian were transforming their apartment near St. Andrews Park in Bristol ready for new tenants. They had already created a beautiful garden and were making great progress with the kitchen, but the main lounge and master bedroom had become increasingly challenging. Every task seemed to uncover another problem.

Peeling wallpaper, damp staining, blown plaster around the bay window, damaged walls, old cables, uneven caulking, rust marks, overpainted sockets, and unfinished alterations all needed attention before any painting could begin. With professional photographs booked, time was running short.

My role was to step in as part of their team and get the project back on track.

The first priority was preparation. Using a raking light, every imperfection in the walls was identified and repaired. Loose wallpaper was re-adhered, stains were blocked, damaged plaster repaired, old caulk removed and replaced, gaps filled, rust treated, and timber carefully prepared. Every surface was sanded to create a smooth, even finish before a single coat of paint was applied.

With the preparation complete, the rooms received fresh ceilings, beautifully finished walls, and fully repainted woodwork, transforming them into bright, welcoming spaces ready for professional photography.

Hilary and Brian met their deadline, and the property was presented exactly as they had hoped.

Sometimes decorating isn't simply about applying paint—it's about solving problems, restoring confidence, and helping a project reach the finish line.
